Cordless Phones

All cordless phones have a few of the same features (Talk Button, Flash Button, Keypad).

They are great for flexibility at the front desk.

TAFAS (To Answer From Any Station)

Description:  Allows calls to be answered from another extension other than the console (main switchboard).

Operation:  When the console (main switchboard) is ringing press the “Talk Button”, listen for dial tone and then enter the TAFAS access code, which is 57 (may be a different access code).  If the caller has said which room he or she would like to speak with, you must perform a Call Transfer (see below).

Dial Call Pickup

Description: When another phone is ringing within the same pickup group, you can answer the other phone that is ringing by pressing the code 54.

Operation: When you hear another phone in your area (that is in your pickup group) that is ringing, press the “Talk Button”, listen for dial tone and then enter the DIAL CALL PICKUP access code, which is 54.  If the caller has said which room he or she would like to speak with, you must perform a Call Transfer (see below).

Call Transfer

Description: When a call has been answered and you must extend the call to another extension you will have to perform a “Call Transfer”.

Operation: When you answer a call and the caller has said which room he or she would like to speak with, you must transfer the call.  You do this by telling the caller to please hold to be transferred and then press the “Flash Button” (sometimes the “Talk Button” double as the “Flash Button”) enter the desired extension number.  If you hear ringing, then press the “Off Button” or “Disconnect Button” to hang-up and complete the transfer.  If you heard a busy tone, then press the “Flash Button” again to return to the original caller and explain that the extension is unavailable.
